Rebecca Leigh Sandefur is an American sociologist. A sociologist studies how people live and interact in groups. She is a professor at Arizona State University. She also works with the American Bar Foundation (ABF). At the ABF, she started a project in 2010 to help people get fair legal help.
In 2018, Rebecca Sandefur won a special award called the MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship. She received this award for finding new ways to help people who don't have a lot of money get legal support.
