Regillio Simons (born 28 June 1973) is a Dutch professional football manager and former player. He is well-known as the father of football star Xavi Simons.

Regillio Simons' Playing Career
Regillio Simons started his football journey playing for a youth team called Amstelland. He became a professional player and played for several clubs. These included Telstar, Fortuna Sittard, NAC, and Willem II. He also played for Kyoto Purple Sanga in Japan, ADO Den Haag, and TOP Oss.
Highlights at Fortuna Sittard
Simons had some of his best times playing for Fortuna Sittard. During the 1998–99 season, he helped his team win against big clubs. He scored two goals in a 3–1 victory over Ajax in Amsterdam. In the same year, he scored four goals in an exciting 6–4 home win against PSV Eindhoven.
Later Playing Years
After his professional career, Simons continued to play football at an amateur level. He joined Türkiyemspor, an amateur club in Amsterdam. From 2008, he played for the Ajax Amateurs team for two years.
Regillio Simons' Coaching Career
Regillio Simons began his coaching career in 2005. He has worked as a head coach for different football clubs.
Coaching at Volendam
In 2023, Simons was named the head coach for the Volendam under-21 team. In 2024, he moved up to manage the main Volendam team. This happened after the previous manager, Matthias Kohler, left the club.
However, Volendam's team was moved down from the top Dutch league, the Eredivisie. After this, Simons and the club decided together to end his contract in May 2024.
About Regillio Simons' Life
Regillio Simons was born in the Netherlands. His family background is from Suriname. He has two sons, and one of them is Xavi Simons, who is also a famous football player. Xavi currently plays for the German club RB Leipzig. Regillio Simons earned his top coaching qualification, the UEFA Pro Licence, in 2010.
