First Generation (1994–2001)
The first Renault Laguna came out in early 1994. It was designed to replace an older Renault model called the 21. At first, it was sold as a hatchback car. Later, in 1995, a station wagon version was also released. The car got a small update, called a facelift, in 1998.
Engine Options
The first Laguna offered different types of engines. These included both petrol (gasoline) and diesel engines. They varied in size and power, giving buyers many choices.
Second Generation (2000–2007)
The second version of the Laguna arrived at the end of 2000. Just like the first generation, it was available as both a hatchback and a station wagon. A very important thing happened in 2001. The second Laguna became the first car ever to get a perfect 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. This meant it was one of the safest cars you could buy at that time. The car received a facelift in March 2005, updating its look.
Engine Choices
The second generation also had a range of engine options. These included various petrol and diesel engines. They offered different levels of power and fuel efficiency.
Third Generation (2007–2015)
The third generation of the Laguna went on sale in October 2007. This time, it came in three different body styles. You could choose a hatchback, a station wagon, or a sporty 2-door coupé. In late 2010, this generation also received a small facelift. The Renault Laguna was eventually replaced in 2015 by a new car model called the Renault Talisman.
Engine Types
For the third generation, Renault continued to offer a variety of engines. These included both petrol and diesel options. They were designed to provide good performance and efficiency for different drivers.
