Resurrection Ship facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Cylon Resurrection Ship is a special kind of spacecraft from the TV show Battlestar Galactica. It's a very important part of the Cylon fleet. This ship helps Cylons "come back to life" after they are destroyed.

What is a Cylon Resurrection Ship?

A Cylon Resurrection Ship is like a floating hospital and rebirth center for Cylons. In the Battlestar Galactica story, Cylons are advanced robots, and some of them look exactly like humans. These ships are designed to keep the Cylons from truly dying.

How Do Cylons "Come Back to Life"?

When a Cylon is destroyed, their memories and personality, which is called their consciousness, are not lost. Instead, this information is quickly sent, or downloaded, to the nearest Resurrection Ship. It's like backing up a computer file!

Once their consciousness arrives at the ship, a brand-new body is created for them. This new body is exactly like their old one. The Cylon's consciousness then moves into this new body. This process allows Cylons to live again, even after they have been destroyed in battle or by other means.

Why is the Ship Important?

The Resurrection Ship is super important for the Cylons. It means they don't have to worry about dying permanently. They can keep fighting and carrying out their plans because they know they can always be reborn.

However, there's a big catch! If a Cylon is too far away from a Resurrection Ship when they are destroyed, their consciousness has nowhere to go. In that case, their death becomes permanent. They simply stop existing. This makes the Resurrection Ships high-priority targets for their enemies, like the humans in the show.
