The Revs Institute is a special museum in Naples, Florida. It is all about cars! This museum is a nonprofit organization, which means it uses its money to help people learn. It focuses on the history of cars, doing research, and teaching people about them.
The Revs Institute is home to the Miles Collier Collections. This collection has over 100 amazing cars built between 1896 and 1995. Some of these cars are very rare, and many are famous race cars. The museum also has one of the biggest libraries in the world just for car information. There's even a huge workshop, about 12,000 square feet, where old cars are fixed up and kept in great shape.
The Story of Revs Institute
The Revs Institute was started by Miles Collier in 2008. Miles Collier comes from a family that loved cars and history. His grandfather, Barron Collier, was a famous businessman from New York City. Barron Collier also helped create Collier County, Florida back in 1923.
Miles's father, C. Miles Collier, and his uncle, Sam Collier, were very important in starting sports car racing in the United States. They helped make it popular!
Amazing Car Collections
The cars at the Revs Institute are not just for looking at; they are working vehicles! This means they can still be driven. Sometimes, cars from the collection are sent to other museums for shows. They might also be driven in old-fashioned races. Other times, they are being fixed or carefully preserved in the workshop.
The first floor of the museum mainly shows off cool sports cars. There's even a special area just for Porsche cars. Most of the awesome race cars are displayed on the second floor.
