Rhys Llywelyn Isaac (born November 20, 1937 – died October 6, 2010) was a very important historian. He was born in South Africa but became an Australian citizen. He studied the history of the United States.

Rhys Isaac won a special award called the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1983. He won it for his book, The Transformation of Virginia, 1740–1790. He is the only Australian historian ever to win this famous prize!
