Richard Dutruel was born in Thonon-les-Bains, France. He started his football journey playing for different clubs. He was a goalkeeper, which means his job was to stop the other team from scoring goals.
Early Years and Major Clubs
Dutruel played for several well-known teams. These included Paris Saint-Germain, a famous French club. He also spent time at Stade Malherbe Caen.
His most successful period was with RC Celta de Vigo in Spain. While playing for Celta, he also competed in the UEFA Cup. This is a big European competition for football clubs.
Playing for FC Barcelona
After Celta, Dutruel moved to FC Barcelona, another huge club in Spain. He played there for two seasons. In his first year, he was a backup goalkeeper. He helped the team when needed.
