Richard Loncraine (born on October 20, 1946) is a talented British director who makes both movies and TV shows. He was born in Cheltenham, a town in Gloucestershire, England.

About Richard Loncraine
Richard Loncraine started his career learning about filmmaking at the BBC, which is a big broadcasting company in the UK. He even directed parts of a science show called Tomorrow's World. Before becoming a director, he was a sculptor. He was the first person to create a shiny, chrome version of a Newton's cradle, which is a cool desk toy with swinging balls.
Richard has won some really important awards for his work. In 1996, he won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 46th Berlin International Film Festival for his movie Richard III. This is a big award from a famous film festival! Then, in 2002, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for his work on the TV series Band of Brothers. An Emmy is one of the highest awards you can get in television.
