Richard Ortiz Busto was born on May 22, 1990. He is a professional footballer from Paraguay. Richard plays as a central midfielder for Olimpia and the Paraguay national team. He is known for being a fast player and for his powerful long-distance shots with his left foot.

Richard Ortiz's Football Journey
Playing for Olimpia
Richard Ortiz joined Paraguayan Primera División club Olimpia in 2009. He quickly became an important player. By 2013, he was named the team's captain.
After playing very well for both Olimpia and the Paraguay national team, many clubs around the world became interested in him. These included teams from Mexico, Italy, England, and France. In the end, Olimpia agreed to transfer him to Deportivo Toluca.
Time with Toluca
On May 28, 2013, Richard Ortiz officially joined Deportivo Toluca in Mexico. He signed a five-year contract. He was one of four Paraguayan players on the team at that time.
He scored his first goal for Toluca in his second game of the season. Later, in December 2015, Deportivo Toluca announced that Ortiz would return to their team.
Loan to Club Libertad
In 2015, Richard Ortiz was loaned to Club Libertad from Deportivo Toluca for six months. This move happened after he had been briefly loaned to another team, Dorados de Sinaloa, but preferred to play for Libertad.
Playing for His Country
Richard Ortiz also plays for the Paraguay national football team. He made his first appearance for his country on October 11, 2011. In that same game, a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, he scored his first goal for Paraguay.
