Richard Roby (born September 28, 1985) is an American professional basketball player. He played as a shooting guard and was known for his scoring ability. Richard last played for the Shinshu Brave Warriors in Japan in 2019.
He went to high school at Lawrence Academy at Groton in Massachusetts. Later, he played college basketball for the Colorado Buffaloes from 2004 to 2008. Richard became Colorado's all-time leading scorer during his final college game. He is also the half-brother of former NBA player Kenyon Martin.

Richard Roby's Basketball Journey
Richard Roby started his professional basketball career in 2008. He played for many teams around the world. His journey took him to different countries, including Israel, Mexico, France, and South Korea.
Playing in Japan
Richard found a special connection with playing in Japan. From 2013 to 2016, he played for the Akita Northern Happinets. During this time, he helped his team win the bj league Eastern Conference championship two years in a row. He was also recognized as one of the best players in the league. He even got his driver's license in Akita, Japan! After his time with Akita, he continued to play for other Japanese teams, including the SAN-EN NeoPhoenix and the Osaka Evessa.
The Basketball Tournament (TBT)
In 2017, Richard Roby joined The Basketball Tournament (TBT). This is a special competition shown on ESPN. He played for Team Colorado, which was made up of former Colorado Buffaloes players. His team was a top seed in their region. Richard helped Team Colorado reach the "Super 16" round. They played well but were eventually defeated.

During his time at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Richard Roby was a standout player. He consistently scored a lot of points and grabbed many rebounds.
