Richibucto River, seen from where Bonar Law grew up

The Richibucto River is a cool waterway in eastern New Brunswick, Canada. It flows for about 80 kilometers (50 miles). This river eventually empties into the Northumberland Strait, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean.

The name "Richibucto" comes from the Mi'kmaq language. It means "river of fire." Isn't that a neat name?

Many communities are found along the river's banks. These include Rexton and the Elsipogtog First Nation. A very important person, Bonar Law, grew up near this river. He later became the Prime Minister of Britain!
