Richie Rich is an American sitcom (a funny TV show about everyday life). It was made by DreamWorks Animation's AwesomenessTV for Netflix. The show is based on the famous Harvey Comics character, Richie Rich.
In this TV show, Jake Brennan plays the main character, Richie Rich. Most of the original characters from the comics were changed, except for Richie and his robot maid, Irona. The first season had 10 episodes and came out on February 20, 2015. The second season, with 11 episodes, was released on May 22, 2015.

What the Show is About
The story of Richie Rich is about a boy who becomes super rich. He finds a way to turn vegetables into a clean energy source. Because of this, Richie now has over a trillion dollars!
Richie lives in a huge mansion filled with cool toys and gadgets. His best friends, Darcy and Murray, are always with him. He also lives with Irona, his robot maid, and his dad, Cliff, who loves naps. Richie's sister, Harper, is often a bit jealous. Darcy loves to spend money, while Murray always tries to keep things within a budget.
Meet the Characters
Main Characters
- Jake Brennan as Richie Rich: He's a kid who became a trillionaire by inventing a way to make energy from leftover vegetables. Unlike the comic books, he wasn't born rich; he made his own fortune.
- Brooke Wexler as Irona: She is Richie's robot maid. Richie sometimes calls her a "super model" robot. She can be a bit silly and sometimes tries to flirt with electronic devices.
- Kiff VandenHeuvel as Cliff Rich: He is Richie and Harper's dad. Cliff is quite childish, not very smart, and loves to eat or take naps.
- Lauren Taylor as Harper Rich: She is Richie's older sister. Harper is often jealous of Richie and really wants to get into Harvard.
- Joshua Carlon as Murray: He is Richie's money manager and one of his best friends. Murray doesn't like it when Darcy spends Richie's money without asking.
- Jenna Ortega as Darcy: She is Richie's other best friend. Darcy loves spending Richie's money and sometimes does so without his permission.
Other Characters
- Ysa Penarejo as Tulip Steinhoff: She is a friend of Harper. Tulip is very optimistic but not always the brightest. She thinks her name comes from having "two lips," not the flower.
- Nathan Anderson as Tahj Stokes (nicknamed "T-Nice"): He is the son of a rapper named Bulldozer and a friend of Richie. Tahj secretly loves to do Ballet. He also has a crush on Richie's older sister, Harper. People often only know him as "Bulldozer's son."
- Peter Glennon as Swedish House Sensation (real name Rebecca): He used to be a famous DJ from Sweden. Now, he is Richie's personal chef who only knows how to cook meatball dishes after a concert went wrong.
How the Show Was Made
The idea for Richie Rich was announced in October 2014. It was part of a deal between Netflix and DreamWorks Animation. DreamWorks agreed to create many hours of new shows for Netflix.
In the comics, Richie Rich was born into a very wealthy family. But in this TV show, Richie makes his own money with a new green technology. The series follows his fun adventures with his new wealth. Brian Robbins, Tim Pollock, and Jeff Hodsden were the main people in charge of making the show.
