Richard Derek Blight (born October 17, 1955 – died April 3, 2005) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played as a right winger. Richard played for 5 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was a player for the Vancouver Canucks and the Los Angeles Kings.
His Hockey Career
Richard was chosen by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1975 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 10th player picked overall that year. He played for the Canucks for several seasons. Later, he also played for the Los Angeles Kings.
Life After Hockey
After Richard stopped playing hockey, he started a new career. He became a stockbroker, which means he helped people buy and sell parts of companies. He also worked as a marketing consultant. This means he advised businesses on how to promote their products.
In 1995, Richard was honored for his achievements. He was added to the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. This is a special place for great athletes from Manitoba, Canada.
