This community is located where Rickman Monterey Highway (State Route 293) meets Rickman Road. It's found northeast of Algood and southwest of Livingston. Rickman has a post office, an elementary school, and various churches and small businesses. State Route 111 also passes along the west side of the community.
A Look at Rickman's Past
Rickman was first known as Bilbrey's Crossing. Later, it was renamed in honor of Carney H. Rickman. He owned and ran a large lumber yard in the area, which was located near the railroad.
