Rina Fujisawa (藤沢 里菜 Fujisawa Rina, born 18 September 1998) is a very talented professional Go player from Japan. Go is an ancient board game where two players try to surround more territory than their opponent. Rina became a professional player at a very young age and has won many important titles in the world of Go. She is known for her skill and for breaking records in the game.

About Rina Fujisawa
Rina Fujisawa was born on September 18, 1998, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. She comes from a family of famous Go players. Her father, Kazunari Fujisawa, is also a professional Go player with a high rank. Her grandfather was Hideyuki Fujisawa, a very famous Go master.
Rina became a professional Go player in 2010 when she was just 11 years and 6 months old. At that time, she was the youngest person in Japan to become a professional Go player. This record was later broken by Sumire Nakamura in 2019.
Rina's Amazing Achievements
Rina Fujisawa has achieved many great things in her Go career. She has won several important tournaments and set new records.
Youngest Title Holder
In 2014, Rina won the 1st Aizu Central Hospital Cup. This victory made her the youngest female Go player in Japan to hold a major title. She was only 15 years and 9 months old at the time.
Later that same year, she won the Female Honinbo title. She was 16 years and 1 month old, making her the youngest player ever to win this specific title. The previous record was held by Hsieh Yimin.
Winning and Retaking Titles
In 2015, Rina lost her Female Honinbo title to Hsieh Yimin. Rina won the first two games of their match, but Hsieh Yimin came back to win the next three games.
In March 2016, Rina won the 2nd Ibero-Japan Cup. This tournament was only for players under 18 years old. She beat Toramaru Shibano in the final match. This win made her only the second female player to win a tournament that was open to both male and female players. In October of that year, she played Hsieh Yimin again and won back the Female Honinbo title.
More Major Wins
Rina continued her winning streak in 2017. In March, she won the Female Meijin title, beating Hsieh Yimin. In June, she won her second Aizu Central Hospital Cup, again defeating Hsieh Yimin. In July 2017, Rina also won the second Senko Cup.
In November 2020, Rina Fujisawa made history by winning the Hiroshima Aluminum Cup Young Carp Tournament. She became the first woman in Japanese professional Go to win an official tournament that was open to both female and male players. This was a very important moment for women in Go.
