Rina Fujisawa (born September 18, 1998) is a famous Japanese professional Go player. Go is an ancient board game from Asia. It is played by two players who try to control more of the board than their opponent. Rina is one of the best Go players in the world.

About Rina Fujisawa
Rina Fujisawa comes from a family of Go players. Her father, Kazunari Fujisawa, is an 8-dan professional Go player. Her grandfather, Hideyuki Fujisawa, was also a very famous Go player. He even held an honorary title called "Honorary Kisei."
Becoming a Professional Go Player
Rina became a professional Go player in 2010. She was only 11 years and 6 months old! This made her the youngest professional Go player in Japan at that time. Later, in 2019, another young player named Sumire Nakamura broke Rina's record.
Rina's Amazing Achievements in Go
Rina Fujisawa has won many important Go tournaments. Winning these tournaments means she earns special titles. These titles show how skilled she is at the game.
Winning Her First Big Titles
In 2014, Rina won the 1st Aizu Central Hospital Cup. She was only 15 years and 9 months old. This made her the youngest female player to win a major title in Japan. Later that same year, she won the Female Honinbo title. She was 16 years and 1 month old, setting another record as the youngest to win that title. The previous record holder was Hsieh Yimin.
More Wins and Challenges
In 2015, Rina lost her Female Honinbo title to Hsieh Yimin. It was a close match! But Rina worked hard and won it back in 2016.
In 2016, she also won the 2nd Ibero-Japan Cup. This tournament was for players under 18. Rina was the second female player ever to win a tournament open to both boys and girls.
In 2017, Rina continued her winning streak. She won the Female Meijin title. She also won her second Aizu Central Hospital Cup and the second Senko Cup. She often played against Hsieh Yimin in these finals.
Making History: Winning an Open Tournament
In November 2020, Rina Fujisawa made history. She won the Hiroshima Aluminum Cup Young Carp Tournament. This was a very important win because it was an official tournament open to both male and female players. Rina was the first woman in Japanese professional Go to win such a tournament!
