Rita Mills (born August 25, 1935 – died December 8, 2004) was a talented Australian singer. She came from the beautiful Torres Strait Islands. Rita was also known by other names like Rita Fell, Rita Tyrell, and Rita Fell-Tyrell. She was a very important member of a music group called the Mills Sisters.

Who Was Rita Mills?
Rita Mills was born in 1935 on Naghir Island. This island is part of the Torres Strait Islands in Australia. She spent some of her life on Thursday Island. During World War II, she had to move to the mainland for a short time for safety.
Starting Her Music Career
Rita was part of a musical group with her two twin sisters, Cessa and Ina. They were known as the Mills Sisters. All three sisters loved to sing. Rita also played the guitar in their band.
Solo Music and Later Life
After her twin sisters stopped performing in 1996, Rita continued her music career on her own. She became a solo artist.
In 2000, Rita was diagnosed with a health condition called Alzheimer's disease. She then moved to Cairns, a city in Queensland. She stopped performing in 2001 and sadly passed away in December 2004.
