Ritesh Sidhwani, born in 1973, is a famous Indian film producer. He helps make movies and TV shows! He started a company called Excel Entertainment with his friend Farhan Akhtar. Their very first movie, Dil Chahta Hai, was a big hit and won a special award called the National Award in 2001.
Ritesh Sidhwani is also a pioneer in making shows for online streaming platforms, often called OTT. His company, Excel Entertainment, was one of the first big Indian companies to create content for these platforms. Their show Inside Edge was even nominated for an International Emmy Award in 2017! Other popular shows include Mirzapur and Made in Heaven.
He has produced many different types of films, like Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy, the action-packed Don movies, and the fun Fukrey series. Ritesh Sidhwani also created a special part of his company, Excel Media & Entertainment, just for making web shows.
His series Dahaad was shown at the important Berlinale Film Festival. Another series, Bambai Meri Jaan, was the first Indian online show to be shown to an international audience in London. Ritesh Sidhwani even won a BAFTA Award for Boong in 2025, which was recognized as the Best Children's & Family Film!
