The River Hindburn is a cool river found in Lancashire, England. It's a natural waterway that flows through the beautiful countryside. Rivers like the Hindburn are important for the environment and for people too!

The River Hindburn's Journey

The River Hindburn has an interesting path from where it starts to where it joins bigger rivers. Let's follow its journey!

Where It Begins

The River Hindburn doesn't just start from one spot. It actually begins at a place called Thrushgill. Here, three smaller streams come together to form the main river. These streams are called Whitray Beck, Middle Gill, and Dale Beck. Think of them as tiny rivers that combine their waters to create a bigger one!

Flowing North

Once the three streams have joined, the River Hindburn starts its journey. It flows mostly northwards. As it travels, it passes by a small place called Lowgill. The river continues its path until it reaches the village of Wray.

Meeting the River Roeburn

Near Wray, the River Hindburn meets another river. This river is called the River Roeburn. When two rivers meet and join, it's called a confluence. After they merge, the combined water continues to flow as the River Hindburn.

Joining Other Rivers

The journey of the River Hindburn doesn't end after meeting the River Roeburn. It keeps flowing until it reaches Hornby Park. Here, the River Hindburn finally meets and merges with a larger river, the River Wenning. This is where the Hindburn's individual journey ends, as its waters become part of the Wenning.
