Riverbend Apartments facts for kids
Riverbend Apartments was once a very large apartment complex with 600 homes, located near Atlanta, Georgia. It was known for being a popular place for young adults to live. This apartment complex was even featured in a part of the 2002 movie Catch Me If You Can.
The Story of Riverbend Apartments
Riverbend Apartments got its name because it was built overlooking a bend in the Chattahoochee River. It was located in the Cumberland area, which is a district of Atlanta.
In the late 1970s, new laws were passed that changed how apartment complexes could operate. Before these laws, some places could choose to not allow children to live there. After the laws changed, Riverbend Apartments, like many others, started to welcome families. Over time, many of the original residents moved on, and the area changed.
Today, Riverbend Apartments has been completely updated and redesigned. It is now known by a new name: "Walton on the Chattahoochee."
