Rivière is a small village in France. It is located in the Pas-de-Calais area, which is a "department" (like a county). This department is part of the Hauts-de-France region. Rivière is also known as a "commune," which is a local government area in France.
About Rivière
Rivière is a quiet village where people mostly work in farming. There are also some small factories. It is located about 10 kilometers (6 miles) southwest of a city called Arras. The village is easy to find because several main roads meet there.
A Look at History
Rivière was not always one single village. Before 1789, it was made up of five smaller areas. These areas were called Bellacourt, Bellacordelle, Brétencourt, Grosville, and Le Fermont. In 1789, these five hamlets joined together. This is when they officially became the commune of Rivière.
Places to See

- The Château de Grosville is a large country house. It also dates back to the 1700s. The château has a lovely park around it.
- At a place called Brétencourt, you can find traces of a very old castle. This castle was built way back in the 1200s!
