History of RoEllen
RoEllen has an interesting past! It is known as the location of the very first church built in Dyer County. This important building was put up in 1830.
The Old Union Church
The first church was a wooden building. It was known by the name "Old Union." Many different Christian groups used this church for their services. These groups included Baptist, Methodist, and Cumberland Presbyterian followers. At some point later, the Cumberland Presbyterians became the only owners of the church building and its land. They then built a new church on the same spot.
