Meet Robert Whistle: An Ice Hockey Player
Robert Whistle was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. He grew up loving ice hockey. He became a professional player, which means he played hockey as his job. Robert was known for his role as a defenceman. This position is super important in hockey. Defencemen help stop the other team from scoring goals. They also help their own team start attacks.
Robert's Hockey Journey
Robert Whistle started his professional journey in 1985. He was not chosen in the NHL draft. Instead, the New York Rangers signed him as a free agent. This means they offered him a contract directly. He played 32 games for the Rangers. During his time there, he showed his skills on the ice.
Later, Robert was traded to the St. Louis Blues. A trade in hockey means players switch teams. He played 19 games for the Blues. After that, he was traded again to the Washington Capitals. However, he didn't play for the Capitals' main team. Instead, he played for their farm club. A farm club is like a training team for younger or developing players. Robert retired from playing hockey at the end of that season in 1989.
