Robbie Kay's Acting Journey
Robbie's family moved to the Czech Republic. There, he saw a note at his school. It was looking for English-speaking children to be extras in a movie. Even though he had never acted before, he got a small speaking part in a film called The Illusionist. However, his scenes were later cut from the movie.
After this, Robbie had small roles in movies like Hannibal Rising and My Boy Jack. Then, a Canadian movie company asked him to play a young character named Jakob in Fugitive Pieces. This role meant filming for nine weeks, with three of those weeks spent on beautiful Greek islands!
The filmmakers for Fugitive Pieces looked at over 150 boys before they found 10-year-old Robbie. He had been living in Prague for two years at that time. Robbie also spent a year learning acting, singing, and dancing at a Stagecoach theatre school in Britain.
In 2008, Robbie starred as the main character in the TV miniseries Pinocchio. After that, he played a boy named Sam who had leukemia in the movie Ways To Live Forever. This movie came out in late 2010.
He also appeared in the big movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. In this film, he played the Cabin Boy. Later, he became very well-known for playing Peter Pan in the TV series Once Upon a Time.
In March 2015, Robbie was chosen for a main role in the TV series Heroes Reborn. He played a high school student named Tommy Clark.
