Robert da Silva Almeida, known simply as Robert, is a Brazilian former professional footballer. He was born on April 3, 1971, in Salvador, Brazil. Robert played as a midfielder, a player who helps both defend and attack on the football field. After his playing career, he became a professional football manager, guiding teams from the sidelines.

Robert's Football Journey: Playing Career

Robert had a long and exciting career playing for many different football clubs. He started his journey in Brazil, playing for teams like Olaria and Guarani in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Playing for Santos FC

One of the most important clubs in Robert's career was Santos. He played for Santos in two different periods. First, from 1995 to 1996, and then again from 2000 to 2003. During his time at Santos, he helped the team win the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2002. This is a very important league title in Brazilian football. He also won the Torneio Rio-São Paulo with Santos in 1997.

Robert also played for other well-known Brazilian clubs. He was with Grêmio from 1997 to 1998, where he won the Campeonato Gaúcho in 1998 and the Copa Sul in 1999. In 1999, he played for Atlético Mineiro and helped them win the Campeonato Mineiro. He also played for São Caetano, Corinthians, and Bahia.

Playing in Japan

In 2003, Robert had an experience playing football in Japan. He joined Consadole Sapporo, a team in the J2 League. He played 17 games for them and scored 5 goals before returning to Brazil later that year.

Robert also had the honor of playing for the Brazil national team. He played three matches for his country in 2001. One of these appearances was in the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup, where Brazil finished in fourth place.
