Robert Pine (born Granville Whitelaw Pine on July 10, 1941) is an American actor. He is most famous for playing Sgt. Joseph Getraer on the TV show CHiPs from 1977 to 1983. Robert Pine has appeared in over 400 episodes of different television shows throughout his career.

Robert Pine was born in New York City on July 10, 1941. His parents were Virginia and Granville Martin Pine. He finished college at Ohio Wesleyan University in 1963.
Family Life and Hollywood Start
Robert Pine is married to Gwynne Gilford. She also acted in some episodes of CHiPs as Betty Getraer, the wife of Robert Pine's character. They have two children, who are also actors: Chris and Katie.
Pine moved to Hollywood in 1964. He learned to ride horses because he often acted in Western movies and shows for Universal Studios. He worked with Universal until 1967.
Famous TV Roles and Guest Appearances
During his long career, Robert Pine acted in many popular TV shows. He was on the soap opera Days of Our Lives as Walter Coleman. He also made guest appearances on shows like Gunsmoke, Lost in Space, The Wild Wild West, and Knight Rider.
From 1977 to 1983, he starred in the NBC show CHiPs. He played Sgt. Joseph Getraer, the boss of the two main characters. He was on the show for six seasons.
Later, in the 1980s, Pine played Peter Morris, Zack's father, in an episode of Good Morning, Miss Bliss. This show later became Saved by the Bell. He also appeared in the TV movie CHiPs '99, playing his role as Getraer again.
Other Notable Roles
Robert Pine has also appeared in science fiction shows. He was Ambassador Liria in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager. He also played Vulcan Captain Tavin in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise. Other shows he appeared in include Six Feet Under and Beverly Hills 90210.
In 2013, he lent his voice to the character of the Bishop of Arendelle in Disney's animated movie Frozen.
