Robert Neil Sandberg, also known as R. N. Sandberg, is an American playwright. A playwright is a person who writes plays for the theater. He used to teach at Princeton University from 1995 to 2022. He taught in the Lewis Center for the Arts and the English Department.

Robert Sandberg went to Upper Darby High School. After high school, he studied at Princeton University. He earned his first degree there in 1970. Later, he continued his studies at the Yale School of Drama at Yale University. He received another degree in 1977. This education helped him become a successful playwright.
