Robert Werdann is a former professional basketball player and coach from the United States. He was born on September 12, 1970.

Playing Career
Robert Werdann grew up in Sunnyside, Queens, New York. He went to Archbishop Molloy High School and finished in 1988. In his final year of high school, he was named a McDonald's High School All-American. This is a special honor for top high school basketball players.
College Basketball Achievements
Werdann played college basketball at St. John's University. During his time there, he became the player with the most blocked shots in the school's history. He helped his team win the NIT Championship in 1989. They also won the Big East Championship in 1992. His team made it to the NCAA tournament three times. In his junior year, he was recognized as a third-team All-Big East player.
NBA and Other Leagues
In 1992, the Denver Nuggets picked Robert Werdann in the NBA draft. He was the 46th player chosen overall. As a 6-foot-11-inch center, he played in the NBA for three seasons. He played for both the Denver Nuggets and the New Jersey Nets. Werdann also played for other teams, including the Harrisburg Hammerheads in the CBA. During his NBA career, he played in 47 games and scored a total of 101 points.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Robert Werdann became a basketball coach. He first worked as a player scout for the New Orleans Hornets for five years. Later, he became an assistant coach for the team.
Assistant Coaching Roles
In 2010, the Golden State Warriors hired Robert Werdann as an assistant coach. He worked with head coach Keith Smart for the 2010–11 season. In 2011, he moved to the Charlotte Bobcats as an assistant coach. He also coached in Puerto Rico in 2013. In October 2013, he joined the Idaho Stampede as an assistant coach for the 2013–14 season.
Scouting and Head Coach Positions
In 2014, Robert Werdann became a professional scout for the Detroit Pistons. A few years later, in 2017, he was named the head coach. He led the Grand Rapids Drive, which is the Pistons' team in the NBA G League.
