Robin Hood at RCDB |
Get ready for a thrilling ride! Robin Hood was a super cool wooden roller coaster located at Walibi Holland, a popular theme park in the Netherlands. It was known for its exciting drops and turns, giving riders a real adventure. This coaster was a big part of the park's "Sherwood Forest" area, making you feel like you were in a medieval story!
About Robin Hood
Robin Hood was a classic wooden roller coaster. It was designed by a company called Stand Company. The coaster was then built by Vekoma, a well-known manufacturer of roller coasters. It first opened its gates to riders in the year 2000.
Ride Details
This exciting coaster could handle many riders at once. It had a capacity of 815 people every hour! Robin Hood used two trains to carry its passengers. Each train had four cars, and each car could hold six people. This meant 24 people could ride on one train at a time.
The ride itself was quite a journey. It lasted for about 2.5 minutes from start to finish. The track stretched for about 1 kilometer (which is about 0.6 miles) in length. Riders would climb up a 105-foot tall lift hill before speeding down the drops. The coaster could reach speeds of almost 50 miles per hour!
Its History
Robin Hood was a beloved ride at Walibi Holland for many years. It gave thousands of visitors thrilling experiences. However, all good things sometimes change. The Robin Hood roller coaster closed its doors on October 28, 2018.
After its closure, the ride went through a big transformation. It was given an "RMC make-over." This means a company called Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) rebuilt parts of it. They added steel tracks to the wooden structure. This turned Robin Hood into a new type of coaster called a "hybrid" coaster. The new ride opened in 2019 and is now known as "Untamed."
