The Story of Robina Town Centre

Building this amazing shopping centre started in 1994. Before that, the land was just open fields and bushland. When it first opened, it was the biggest mall ever built in Australia all at once!

The first part of the centre opened in April 1996. A few months later, in August 1996, more shops opened on two extra levels. Back then, it had a cool central courtyard with a clocktower and fountains. There were also open-air paths and a food court on a big balcony.

Over the years, the centre has grown a lot. The Queensland Investment Corporation now owns it. They have made many updates and added new sections. Big changes happened between 2006 and 2010, costing about A$400 million!

In 1998, the centre even won an award from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. This showed how well it was designed.

What's New Inside?

In 2007, the centre got even bigger. They added a second Woolworths supermarket and a huge Big W store. A two-storey Borders Book Store also opened. A new fun area was built around the lake with cinemas and restaurants. Plus, a new food court with 900 seats was added. Many new shops and parking spots also appeared. The old clocktower and central courtyard were removed, and the outdoor paths were covered with roofs.

In 2010, another big expansion happened. A Myer department store opened, along with 12 new fashion shops. These new areas connected different parts of the mall.

More recently, in May 2015, a new mall opened with a large Super Coles Store. This added even more shopping space. In late 2016, a special area called "The Kitchens" opened. It has 55 new food and drink places.

Today, Robina Town Centre has five different themed areas. These are called Arbour Lane, Bazaar Street, Food Markets, Fashion Mall (Crescent West), and the North Mall. Each area has its own unique feel!

Finding Your Spot: Parking Made Easy

Robina Town Centre has a smart parking system. It helps you find a parking spot quickly! There are about 6,000 parking spaces, and most of them are undercover.

How Smart Parking Works

Sensors are placed above each parking spot. These sensors have small LED lights. If a spot is empty, the light turns green. If it's taken, the light turns red. This makes finding a space much easier!
