Robina is a suburb located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It is a modern area that was carefully planned and built from scratch. In 2021, about 25,659 people lived in Robina.

What is Robina Like?

Robina is home to many important places. You can find the Robina Town Centre shopping mall here. There is also Bond University, Robina Stadium, and the Robina Branch Library.

How Robina Started

In 1980, a real estate developer from Singapore named Robin Loh teamed up with a local developer, Arthur Earle. They bought 20 square kilometres of land on the southern Gold Coast. This land used to be used for grazing animals.

Dr. Loh and Arthur Earle created a company to build Robina. They worked with famous designers to plan the area. Robina grew into a busy place with homes and businesses. It is now home to over 30,000 people. Robina is known as one of Australia's most successful planned communities. It is also one of the fastest-growing suburbs on the Gold Coast.

The name Robina was made official on 11 May 1985. It combines "Robin" (from Robin Loh) and "a" (from Arthur Earle).

Robina State School opened its doors on 29 January 1990.

Originally, a separate area called Kerrydale was planned next to Robina Town Centre. It was meant for a golf course, hotel, and public spaces. However, in 1992, it was decided that Kerrydale would become part of Robina. So, on 19 May 1995, Robina's boundaries were extended to include Kerrydale.

Robina State High School opened on 29 January 1996.

The Robina Library first opened in 2000. It was updated and improved in 2013.
