Robo Story facts for kids
Robo Story (sometimes called Robostory) is a cool French cartoon series. It was created by Michel Pillyser and Bernard Kessler. The show first came out in 1985. It had 52 episodes, each about 13 minutes long. Later, the series was shown in other countries. An English version was even shown in Australia and the UK.
What is Robo Story About?
Robo Story tells the exciting adventures of a small girl named Myrtille. She has bright orange hair. Her dog, Loufi, is very playful. One day, Myrtille chases Loufi onto a space shuttle. The shuttle takes off with her inside! It then crash-lands on a faraway world. This planet is known as the Green Planet.
The Green Planet is full of robots. In the French version, there were the mean Rotors and the nice Robors. The English version changed their names. The bad robots were called 'Wrigglers'. The friendly robots were known as 'Robos'.
Who are the Wrigglers?
The Wrigglers were the bad robots. They were black and looked a bit spindly. Their bodies looked like big drums. Their heads were shaped like safari hats. The White Wriggler led them. He looked a bit like Darth Vader's helmet. A mysterious voice called 'Revered Reverence' gave him orders.
The White Wriggler often messed things up. Because of this, Revered Reverence would call him "the lowest of the low." He would even turn black! Even though he was the leader, White Wriggler wasn't truly evil. He was often funny because he wasn't very smart. He was also super scared of Loufi (who was called Fluffy in English). Seeing Loufi would make him shake with fear!
Meet the Robos!
The Robos were the friendly robots. Most of them were shaped like bells. They came in many different colors. Old Robot led the Robos. He was a bit skinnier. You often saw him wearing a purple hat and using a cane. Other cool Robo characters included Robot Colossus, Robot Moron, Robot Radar, Robot Magician, and Robot Hobo.
- Robot Pasha: He was a green military Robo. He was skinny and a bit silly. He loved the idea of war. When other Robos were hiding, he would shout "Attack!" But then, the other Robos would quiet him down. They would even sit on him!
- Robot Moron: If you asked him anything, he would always say, "I don't know." But sometimes, he would say smart, deep things. When the other Robos asked what he was talking about, he'd just say, "I don't know" again!
- Robot Radar: This blue robot had a special trick. His top half could flip open. A radar dish would pop out! He could spy on the Wrigglers. He could also pick up signals and act like a TV for entertainment.
- Robot Magician: He was a legend among the Robos. He would sometimes appear to save the day. Once, the Wrigglers gathered a huge army. Robot Magician sent all the Wrigglers into space! He also made their leader go a bit crazy.
- Robot Hobo: He liked to relax in a junkyard. He would often be seen drinking oil.
Myrtille's Big Adventure
The main goal of the series was for Myrtille (or 'Blueberry' in English) to get back to Earth. The Wrigglers had stolen her space shuttle! A funny thing in the show was that the Robos sometimes called Myrtille the "girl-man." This was because they first thought she was a man.
In the very last episode, Robot Magician snuck into the Wrigglers' base. He turned off their main computer, the Revered Reverence. After that, you see White Wriggler with Myrtille. She is getting ready to go home. It seems he made friends with the Robos. This suggests he wasn't really bad. He was just scared of the Revered Reverence.
Myrtille planned to bring the Robos back to Earth with her. But the shuttle accidentally launched with only her and Robot Hobo on board! As they flew away from the Green Planet, Myrtille looked at Robot Hobo. She then saw that he had become Robot Magician! It turns out, he was Robot Magician all along.
The show had a unique animation style. It was known for its dark colors and simple, industrial sounds.
