Rock Springs (called Tséchʼízhí in Navajo) is a special kind of community in McKinley County, New Mexico, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that looks like a town but isn't officially governed as one.

History of Rock Springs
The Rock Springs Chapter began to form in the late 1930s. A "Chapter" is a local government unit within the Navajo Nation. Rock Springs is part of the "Checker Board Area" in the Eastern Agency of the Navajo Nation.
This area includes the communities of Sagebrush, China Springs, and Rock Springs. The community of Yatahey Junction is also within the Chapter's boundaries. Rock Springs is close to the city of Gallup, which has influenced its growth and modernization.
