Rockwell has several schools that help kids learn and grow. These include:

Rockwell Elementary School has a long history. It was first built in 1928 and was known as Rockwell School. It brought together students from eighteen smaller schoolhouses in eastern Rowan County. For many years, it taught students from first grade all the way through twelfth grade.
In 1959, the school changed to only teach grades 1-6. Kindergarten was added in 1973, making it a K-6 school. Then, in 1990, all elementary schools in Rowan County became K-5 schools, which is how Rockwell Elementary still operates today.
