Rod Frederick Jensen (born 19 January 1979) is a former professional rugby league player from Australia. He was known by his nickname 'Rocket' Rod Jensen because of his amazing speed. Rod played for several teams during his career. These included the Adelaide Rams, Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys, and Huddersfield Giants. He also played for the Northern Pride in the Queensland Cup.

Early Life and Education
Rod Jensen was born in Atherton, Queensland, Australia. He went to school at St Augustine's College. Later, he studied at James Cook University of North Queensland. He graduated in 2005 with a teaching degree.
Playing Career Highlights
Rod Jensen started his rugby league journey with the Adelaide Rams in 1997. He then played for the Canberra Raiders for five seasons. After that, he joined the North Queensland Cowboys.
The 2005 Grand Final
In 2005, Rod Jensen was part of the North Queensland Cowboys team. They made it to their first-ever Grand Final. Rod played from the interchange bench in this big game. However, his team lost to the Wests Tigers.
Speed and Nickname
Rod was famous for being very fast and agile. He could play in many different positions on the field. This is how he earned his nickname, 'Rocket' Rod Jensen. In 2007, while playing for the Huddersfield Giants in the Super League, he showed off his speed. He scored several tries by running the length of the field. He even outran other very fast players.
Playing for Northern Pride
After his time in the Super League, Rod played for the Northern Pride. He scored 19 tries for them in the Queensland Cup. He retired after the 2009 season. But he came back to play for the Northern Pride again in 2010. That year, the team won the Queensland Cup championship! He continued playing for them in 2011 and 2012. After that, he moved to the Mareeba Gladiators.
Life After Playing Rugby League
After retiring from playing, Rod Jensen used his skills in other ways. He became the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the Northern Pride club. This means he helps run the club from behind the scenes.
In 2022, Rod Jensen also decided to try something new. He ran as a candidate in the 2022 Australian federal election. He wanted to represent the Division of Leichhardt in Far North Queensland. He ran as a candidate for the Katter's Australian Party.
