Roda de Ter is a small town in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the Osona region of the Province of Barcelona. The town sits near the Ter River, close to the Sau Reservoir. As of 2018, about 6,197 people live there, and it covers an area of 2.2 square kilometers.
The town's church is named after St. Peter. Two important landmarks are the Pont Vell (which means "Old Bridge") and the Capella del Sòl del Pont (Chapel of the Floor of the Bridge). The Virgin Mary, known as La Mare de Déu del Sòl del Pont, is considered the special protector of the village.

Roda de Ter has a long and interesting past. It was once an ancient Iberian town. Later, the Romans built a villa there. This Roman settlement became a fortified place.

In the year 826, the town was destroyed during a revolt led by a person named Aissó. After this, it took many years for the area to be settled again. The town grew very slowly over time.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, which was a big European conflict, people from Catalonia fought against French forces. Roda de Ter was a place where many local fighters supported the Habsburg family's claim to the Spanish throne.
One famous fighter from Roda de Ter was Francesc Macià i Ambert. He was known by his fighting name, Bac de Roda. He is remembered in Barcelona with a street and a metro station named after him.
How the Town Got Its Name
For a long time, the town was simply called Roda. In the late 20th century, the area was divided into two parts. The town became Roda de Ter, and the surrounding rural area became Masies de Roda. Roda de Ter is connected by Catalan route C-153.
