Working at Univision

In early 2015, while working at Univision, Rodner Figueroa made a comment during a TV segment. This comment was about the appearance of Michelle Obama. His co-hosts disagreed with him, but he repeated the statement. Because of this unacceptable comment, Univision later ended his employment. After losing his job, Figueroa publicly said he was sorry for what he had said.

Moving to Telemundo

In October 2017, Rodner Figueroa joined the Telemundo network. He became part of the news program Al Rojo Vivo, working alongside María Celeste Arrarás.
