Rodrigo Corrales began playing handball at a young age. He joined the youth team of FC Barcelona in 2006. He played there until 2009, learning the skills of a professional goalkeeper.

After his youth years, Rodrigo continued with FC Barcelona's senior team. He also played on loan for other clubs. From 2012 to 2014, he played for BM Huesca. Then, from 2014 to 2016, he was on loan at Wisła Płock in Poland.
