Roger Martínez has had an exciting career playing for many different football clubs and his national team. He is known for his speed and ability to score goals.
Early Career: First Steps in Football
Roger began his football journey at a young age. He played for local teams like Juventus and Expreso Rojo in Colombia. He was even chosen to play for his home province, Cartagena. Later, he moved to a training school in Medellín called Student.
When he was 17, Roger got a chance to go to Argentina. He tried out for Boca Juniors, a very famous club. They liked him, but he couldn't play official matches because his parents weren't with him. He returned to Colombia, but soon went back to Argentina. This time, he joined Argentinos Juniors for six months, but faced the same problem. Finally, his agent helped him get a chance at Racing Club.
Racing Club: Making His Debut
Roger made his first professional appearance for Racing Club in 2013. This was during a match in the 2013 Copa Sudamericana tournament. He came into the game in the second half. His first match in Argentina's top league was a game against Tigre.
Loan to Santamarina: Gaining Experience
