Rokas Žilinskas (born 20 July 1972 – died 6 June 2017) was a well-known Lithuanian journalist and politician. He was elected to the Seimas, which is the Lithuanian Parliament, in 2008. He served as a member of Parliament until his death.

Rokas Žilinskas's Early Life and Career
Growing Up in Lithuania
Rokas Žilinskas was born in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. His mother was a kindergarten teacher, and his father was a swimming coach. From a young age, Rokas showed interest in subjects like geography and politics.
Becoming a Journalist
He went on to study journalism at the University of Vilnius. Before he became a politician, Rokas Žilinskas was a very famous journalist in Lithuania. He worked as an editor and a TV news presenter. He worked for LRT from 1993 to 1998. After that, he worked for LNK television from 1998 to 2008.
Political Career and Achievements
Entering the Seimas
In 2008, Rokas Žilinskas was elected to the Seimas, the Lithuanian Parliament. This was a big step in his career, moving from journalism to politics. He continued to be a member of Parliament for several terms.
Joining the Homeland Union
In 2012, he joined the conservative political party called the Homeland Union. He was re-elected to the Seimas in 2012 and again in 2016. This showed that people trusted him to represent them in the government.
Awards and Recognition
Rokas Žilinskas received several honors and awards during his life:
- He received the Golden Cross Order 3rd Class from the "Mūsų krantai" charity trust fund. This award was given "For the Sake of Society."
- The news website DELFI gave him the "Titan" award "For the Most Daring Article of the Year."
- The President of Lithuania awarded him a Medal of Honor. This was "For Personal Contribution to Lithuania’s Chairmanship of European Council in 2013."
Later Life and Passing
Rokas Žilinskas was hospitalized in May 2017. He passed away on 6 June 2017, at the age of 44. He was buried in the Antakalnis Cemetery in Vilnius.
