Romualdas Granauskas (born May 18, 1939 – died October 28, 2014) was a famous Lithuanian author and writer for plays. He was born in Mažeikiai, Lithuania.

Romualdas Granauskas started sharing his stories in 1954. His first collection of stories was called "Medžių viršūnės," which means "Tops of the Trees" (published in 1969). Later, he released another collection titled "Duonos valgytojai," meaning "Bread Eaters" (published in 1975).

His Important Books

One of Granauskas's most well-known works is the short novel "Gyvenimas po klevu" (meaning "Life Under the Maple Tree"). This book came out in 1988 and caught the attention of many people.

Another important short novel by Granauskas is "Jaučio aukojimas" ("Sacrifice of a Bull"), published in 1975. In this book, he wrote about nature, history, and old stories (mythology). These themes were very important in his writing.

His Later Years

Romualdas Granauskas passed away in Vilnius, Lithuania, on October 28, 2014. He was 75 years old.
