Working at Chelsea Football Club
Ron Gourlay started working at Chelsea in 2004. Before that, he worked for Manchester United and a sports brand called Umbro.
He became the chief executive of Chelsea on September 17, 2009. This happened after the previous CEO, Peter Kenyon, decided to leave the club. When he was given the job, Ron Gourlay said it was a "huge honour" to lead Chelsea. He also mentioned that Chelsea had "fantastic teams" both on and off the field. He felt these teams could help the club achieve even greater success. He promised to give his "total commitment, drive and energy" to the role.
Time at Reading Football Club
On July 10, 2017, Ron Gourlay was appointed as the CEO of Reading. He worked there for about 16 months, leaving his role on November 19, 2018. After he left, some people felt he didn't quite understand the club's unique spirit. Leading West Bromwich Albion
