Ron Jefferson: A Jazz Drummer's Beat
Ron Jefferson learned a lot from another great drummer named Max Roach. In the 1950s, Ron played with jazz legends like Coleman Hawkins, Roy Eldridge, Oscar Pettiford, and Lester Young. Imagine playing with such big names in music!
Drumming with Les McCann
Ron was one of the first members of the Les McCann Trio. He played drums with them from 1960 to 1964. During this time, they made some awesome recordings. He also recorded with organist "Groove" Holmes and guitarist Joe Pass in the early 1960s.
