Ronaldo Rodrigues de Jesus (born June 19, 1965) is a former Brazilian footballer. He was born in São Paulo, Brazil. People first knew him as Ronaldo. Later, he became known as Ronaldão, which means "Big Ronaldo." This helped tell him apart from another famous player, also named Ronaldo, who was younger.
Ronaldão played as a defender. A defender's job is to stop the other team from scoring goals. He played 14 games for the Brazilian national team, often called the Seleção, between 1991 and 1995. He was part of the team that won the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Even though he didn't play in any matches during that tournament, he was an important member of the winning squad. He joined the team at the last minute, traveling from Japan to the United States to replace an injured player.
Besides his time with the national team, Ronaldão also had a very successful career playing for different clubs. He won many important trophies during his career.
