Ronnie Baker (born October 15, 1993) is an American professional track and field athlete. He is famous for his fast sprint races. He is one of the fastest men in history in the 60 meters sprint. His best time for the 60m is 6.40 seconds.

Ronnie won the 60m race at the USA Indoor Championships in 2017. He also earned a bronze medal in the 60m at the World Indoor Championships in 2018. In 2017, he won a gold medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the World Relays.

In 2018, Ronnie was a top competitor in the Diamond League for the 100 m race. He won four races and finished second in the final. He was the fastest in the world over 60m in 2017. He was also the second fastest in 2018 for both 60m and 100m.

While in college, he ran for the TCU Horned Frogs team. He won the 60m at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships in both 2015 and 2016. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Ronnie ran his personal best of 9.83 seconds in the 100m semi-finals. This made him one of the fastest men in Olympic 100m history.

Ronnie Baker was born on October 15, 1993. He grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. When he first started school, he ran cross country races. In middle school, he switched to running the 400 meters sprint. He continued running the 400m through high school.

He also played basketball at Ballard High School. Ronnie looked up to famous sprinters like Michael Johnson, Tyson Gay, and Usain Bolt. They inspired him in his running career.

Ronnie's Amazing Track Career

Ronnie Baker joined the track team at Texas Christian University (TCU). He changed from running the 400 meters to shorter sprint events. During his time at TCU, he became a two-time champion. He won the 60m event at the NCAA (United States collegiate) championships in 2015 and 2016.

Winning Gold and Bronze Medals

In 2017, Ronnie became the national indoor champion in the 60m race. A month later, he won his first gold medal at a big international event. This was in the 4 × 100 m relay at the World Relays.

In 2018, Ronnie won a bronze medal. This was at the World Indoor Championships. He showed he was one of the best sprinters in the world.

Setting New Personal Bests

Ronnie set a new personal best time for the 100m race in 2018. He ran it in 9.87 seconds in Chorzów, Poland.

In 2021, he started his 100m season strong at the Texas Relays. He won the race with a time of 9.94 seconds. This was the fastest time in the world that year. He also broke a meet record from 1992.

Ronnie qualified for the Tokyo Olympics by running a fast 100m race. He finished second at the 2020 US Olympic Trials. His time was 9.85 seconds.
