About Ron Francis Blake
Ron Blake is known for his amazing trumpet skills. He has performed live and recorded music with many popular musicians. His work includes playing on Green Day's American Idiot tour. You can see him on their live DVD called Bullet in a Bible. He also played on their 2016 album, Revolution Radio.
Early Life and Education
Ron Blake studied music at Cal State Northridge. While he was a student, he won a big award in 1992. This was the International Trumpet Guild's Jazz Improvisation competition. It took place in Rotterdam. He also won first place in a local scholarship contest. He was named the Outstanding Trumpet Player at the Pacific Coast Jazz Festival. Later, Ron went to the California Institute of the Arts on a full scholarship. He earned his master's degree in Music there.

Ron Blake also helps other artists with their music. He runs a website called www.HiSpeedHorns.com. This website lets musicians get horn arrangements for their songs. They can do this remotely over the internet. His website was even featured in Mix Magazine, a music industry publication.
Recent Music Projects
Currently, Ron Blake plays with Poncho Sanchez, a famous Latin jazz musician. In 2017, Ron released his first solo Latin jazz album. It was called “Assimilation” and featured Poncho Sanchez as a guest. Ron also performed at the 2020 Academy Awards with Elton John. This performance was for the movie Rocket Man. The song they played, “I Want To Love Me Again,” won a Golden Globe and an Oscar for best song. You can hear Ron on The Rolling Stones’ newest album, Hackney Diamonds. He is also working on Elton John’s next album.
