Ron Francis Blake (born May 23, 1972) is a talented trumpeter from Los Angeles. He has played music with many famous artists. These include The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Aaliyah, and Dr. Dre. Ron Blake also toured with the band Green Day for their American Idiot tour. You can see him on their live DVD called Bullet in a Bible. He also played on their 2016 album, Revolution Radio.

Ron Blake's Musical Journey

Ron Blake studied music at Cal State Northridge. While he was a student, he won a big award in 1992. This was the International Trumpet Guild's Jazz Improvisation competition in Rotterdam. He also won first place in the Dolo Coker Jazz Scholarship. He was named an Outstanding Trumpet Player at the Pacific Coast Jazz Festival. Later, Ron Blake went to the California Institute of the Arts. He received a full scholarship there. He earned his master's degree in Music.

Helping Other Musicians

Ron Blake also helps other musicians. He runs a website called www.HiSpeedHorns.com. This website lets artists get horn arrangements for their songs. They can do this remotely using the internet. This cool idea was even featured in Mix Magazine.

Recent Work and Achievements

Ron Blake plays with the famous Latin jazz musician Poncho Sanchez. In 2017, Ron Blake released his first solo Latin jazz album. It was called “Assimilation” and featured Poncho Sanchez as a guest.

Ron Blake also performed at the 2020 Academy Awards. He played with Elton John for the movie Rocketman. The song “I Want To Love Me Again” from the movie won a Golden Globe award. It also won an Oscar for best song. Ron Blake can be heard on The Rolling Stones’ latest album, Hackney Diamonds. He is also working on Elton John’s next album.
