Ronnie Bright was a talented bass singer. He sang the low notes in many famous doo-wop groups. Doo-wop is a style of music with strong vocal harmonies.

Early Groups and Famous Songs

Ronnie was the bass singer for groups like the Valentines and the Cadillacs. He also sang with the Deep River Boys. His voice was often used for other artists' songs too. He worked with singers like Barry Mann and Jackie Wilson.

His most famous singing part was in the 1963 hit song "Mr. Bass Man." This song was by Johnny Cymbal. Ronnie's deep voice was a big part of why the song was so popular.

Joining The Coasters

Ronnie sang with the Valentines from 1954 to 1957. He briefly joined the Cadillacs in 1960. In 1965, he released a record as "Ronnie and the Schoolmates."

In April 1968, Ronnie joined The Coasters. This was another very famous doo-wop group. He took the place of their previous bass singer, Dub Jones. Ronnie stayed with The Coasters for a long time. He sang with them until 2009.

Ronnie Bright passed away on November 26, 2015. He was 77 years old.
