Rory Clegg (born 6 January 1990) is a former rugby union player from England. He was known for playing in the Fly-half position, a key role responsible for directing the team's attack.

Early Life and Start in Rugby
Rory Clegg was born in a British Military Hospital in Hanover, Germany, because his father was a soldier stationed there. He grew up in England and went to Barnard Castle School in County Durham.
He started playing rugby when he was just 10 years old for Darlington RFC and his school team. His school coach was Martin Pepper, who used to play for the famous Harlequins team. Clegg was a talented young player and represented his county and the North of England in youth teams.
A Rising Star in English Rugby
Clegg showed amazing promise from a young age. By his 21st birthday, he had already played for England's under-16, under-18, and under-20 teams. He also played in 25 top-level matches for professional clubs, scoring an impressive 96 points.
Playing for England
In 2011, Clegg was chosen to play for the England Saxons, which is England's second national rugby team. He played in the Churchill Cup tournament and was a star player.
- In the first game against the USA, he helped his team to a huge 87–8 victory.
- In the next match against Tonga, he successfully kicked all five conversions and two penalty goals, helping England win 41–14.
- In the final against Canada, Clegg played so well that he was named Man of the Match as the Saxons won the cup with a 37–6 victory.
He also played for England's under-20 team in two Junior World Championships, traveling to Japan in 2009 and Argentina in 2010. During his career, he learned from some of the best in rugby, including legends like Jonny Wilkinson.
Professional Club Career
Clegg's professional career saw him play for many top clubs across Europe.
Newcastle Falcons and Harlequins
He started his top-level career with the Newcastle Falcons in 2008 when he was only 18. He had to step in for the injured superstar Jonny Wilkinson. In his first game, he kicked three penalty goals, impressing the team's director.
In 2009, he moved to Harlequins. In one memorable game against London Irish, he kicked a penalty goal from the halfway line in the final minute to tie the game 9–9. He was part of the Harlequins team that won the 2012 Premiership final, a huge achievement in English rugby.
Journeys to Other Clubs
After his success with Harlequins, Clegg returned to the Newcastle Falcons in 2013. He later had short-term contracts with several other teams.
- Glasgow Warriors: He first joined the Scottish team in 2015 to help out while their main players were at the World Cup. He played so well that they signed him again in 2016.
- Oyonnax: In between his time at Glasgow, he played for this team in France's top rugby league.
- Ealing Trailfinders: In 2017, he joined this London-based club, continuing his journey as a professional player.
