Rory Cochrane (born February 28, 1972) is an American actor. He is known for his roles in popular movies like Dazed and Confused, where he played Ron Slater, and Empire Records, where he was Lucas. He also appeared as Lee Schatz in the movie Argo and Freck in A Scanner Darkly. Many people also know him as Tim Speedle from the TV show CSI: Miami.

About Rory Cochrane's Acting Career
Rory Cochrane started his acting journey with small parts. One of his first roles was in a TV show called Saturday Night with Connie Chung in 1989. He also appeared in an episode of H.E.L.P. in 1990.
His first movie role was a very short appearance in A Kiss Before Dying. After that, he got a bigger role playing Jeff Goldblum's son in the movie Fathers & Sons.
Big Roles and Popular Movies
Rory became more widely known when he played Ron Slater in the 1993 movie Dazed and Confused. This film was very popular and was even ranked as one of the best high school movies ever by Entertainment Weekly.
After that, he played a character named Billy Mack in the action-comedy Love and a .45 in 1994, alongside Renée Zellweger. He continued to find success with a main role as Lucas in the comedy Empire Records. Rory also appeared in Hart's War, a movie with famous actors like Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell. In 2006, he was in another film by director Richard Linklater called A Scanner Darkly.
Rory on TV: CSI: Miami
Rory Cochrane played the character CSI Tim Speedle in the TV show CSI: Miami for its first three seasons. His character was very important to the show. He even came back for a special episode in season 6 called "Bang, Bang, Your Debt", appearing as a vision to another character, Eric Delko.
Recent Work
In 2015, Rory had a supporting role in the true-crime movie Black Mass. In this film, he played a real-life Boston gangster named Stephen Flemmi. The movie also starred Johnny Depp.
