Rory Wilbur White (born August 16, 1959) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a tall and strong player, standing 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 meters) tall and weighing 210 pounds (95 kg). Rory played as a power forward. He played college basketball at the University of South Alabama and later played for several teams in the NBA and other leagues around the world.

Rory White played college basketball for the University of South Alabama from 1977 to 1982. During his time there, he earned many important awards.
Top College Awards
In 1979, Rory was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year. This is a big honor for a college basketball player. He was also chosen for the All-Conference team three times. In 1982, he made the Sun Belt All-Tournament team.
NCAA Tournament Appearance
In 1979, Rory helped his team, the South Alabama Jaguars, win the regular season title in the Sun Belt Conference. This earned them a spot in the 1979 NCAA tournament. They played against Louisville University in the first round.
Dealing with Injury
In 1980, Rory had a serious knee injury. This meant he missed almost the entire 1979–80 season, playing in only two games. He worked hard to recover and get back on the court.
Rory White's Professional Career
After his successful college career, Rory White became one of the first players from South Alabama to be drafted into the NBA. He was picked by the Phoenix Suns in the 1982 NBA draft.
Playing in the NBA
Rory spent five seasons playing in the NBA. He played for different teams, including the Phoenix Suns, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the San Diego / Los Angeles Clippers. His best season was arguably in 1985–86 with the Los Angeles Clippers. During that season, he averaged 11.7 points and almost 1 steal per game.
Playing Around the World
After his time in the NBA ended in 1987, Rory continued his basketball career. He played in the CBA (Continental Basketball Association) for teams like the Santa Barbara Islanders and the Fargo-Moorhead Fever. He also played basketball overseas in countries like Argentina, Belgium, Israel, Italy, and Spain.
