Rosa (born May 26, 2001 – died July 14, 2020) was a special cow from Spain. She became famous for being on a French TV game show called Intervilles. People loved Rosa because she was smart and very energetic. She passed away in 2020 due to a stomach illness.
Rosa's Early Life
Rosa was born in Badajoz, a city in Extremadura, Spain. She had a unique look with a black face and a white body. This made her stand out from other cows, which were mostly black.
When Rosa was one year old, a man named Jean-Pierre Labat saw her. He was visiting Spain to find cows for breeding. Rosa then joined the Labat family's farm in France. The Labat family had a history of providing cows for the Intervilles TV show.
Rosa had a tryout for Intervilles in Germany. At first, she seemed a bit shy. Jean-Pierre Labat thought other cows might be better. But the show's producer, Yves Launoy, chose Rosa. He liked her special colors.
Rosa on Intervilles
Rosa first appeared on Intervilles in 2004. She quickly became known for two things. First, she was very energetic when dealing with contestants. Second, she was smart. She would often knock down parts of the game sets. This stopped contestants from scoring points.
Even though she was energetic, Rosa would not attack contestants if they fell down. In one game, she had to push people into a pool. Rosa would approach them slowly. She would gently rub her horns against their legs. She was checking if they would jump into the water on their own.
Rosa became very popular with viewers. Because of this, she even got her own game. It was called "Rosa Strike" and was like bowling. She missed one season of Intervilles because she gave birth to a calf. Rosa's fame grew so much that she was even in the Intervilles video game for the Wii. Many fans of the show visited the Labat farm just to see her.
Farm Life and Death
After she stopped appearing on TV, Rosa took on a new role. She became the leader of the cow herd at the Labat family farm. She often led the other cows around.
Rosa also toured France, taking part in games similar to Intervilles. She continued doing this until 2020. At that point, she retired to live a peaceful life in the pasture.
Later in 2020, Rosa started losing weight. She sadly passed away on July 14, 2020. The cause of her death was a stomach illness.
